Multi-Disciplinary Autism Evaluations

We conduct diagnostic autism evaluations in collaboration with your pediatrician to ensure you meet the qualifications necessary to access autism benefits through BCBS, BCN, and Aetna. Our team of experts takes the time to listen and identify the unique strengths of individuals and families that foster growth. We understand how concerning it can be to have questions about your child’s development. Our goal is to help you identify and understand the types of support available, assess their quality, and determine what may work best for your family.

Before your visit, you will receive an invitation to activate your patient portal. Please upload a copy of your insurance card and any medical or school records that will help us understand your child’s needs, such as therapy evaluations and progress notes, IEPs, etc. You will also receive new patient paperwork to complete online via the portal, including discipline-specific questionnaires. Please provide as much detail as possible; your answers and any records you submit will form the basis for an in-depth discussion of family history and concerns during the interview portion of the evaluation.

During the evaluation, all family members/caregivers and clinicians will be in the same room. Parents will participate in interviews while the child engages in evaluations with speech and occupational therapy, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). There will be a 30-minute break while the clinicians compile their findings, followed by a meeting to discuss the diagnosis, available resources, and recommended care plan. Please allow up to three weeks for us to complete the evaluation reports. You will receive a message in your patient portal when they are available for you to view and download.

Evaluations are between two to three hours in length. Your child should take any prescribed medication as usual. To schedule, please complete the New Patient Intake.
