Aquatic Program
Goals
- Water Safety – learn basic water safety skills to prevent drowning, beginning with general comfort in the water environment, submerging and returning to the surface, back float, propelling to the water’s edge
- Swim Skills – develop various strokes for independent swimming skills
- Water Therapy – work on motor coordination, strengthening, engagement, social play, and communication skills within a motivating, sensory-rich water environment
Program Start Date: Openings available starting Mid-August 2022
Program Length: 8 weeks
Program Frequency: 1-2 lessons per week
Lesson Ratio: 1:1 Private lessons
Cost: All aquatic therapy visits are billed through insurance as a typical occupational therapy treatment visit
Safety: All families will be required to have at least one parent/caregiver present and in the pool with the patient at all times throughout the duration of the program.
